Address: Av. Córdoba (y Florida) 599 – San Nicolás

This majestic building that distinguishes the corner of Cordoba Avenue and Florida St., had its origin in the request for proposal sent out in 1911 for the construction of its social venue, which intended, at first, to function as a club, hosting gatherings, celebrations, a museum and also a hotel for illustrious guests. It was the project of the French architects Dunant and Mallet the one chosen for the accomplishment of this work. The result was an imposing building of Beaux Arts architecture structured in three levels.
The main rooms were conceived as stylistic units; they have French decoration and high quality crafted details, although in its facade its style is eclectic, displaying signs of different trends, where plainly French schools predominate.
