  • Patagonia is huge and includes five provinces: Rio Negro, Neuquén, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, and has a surface of 880.000 km², a third of the total surface of Argentina, which in turn is the eighth biggest country in the world.
  • The official currency of Argentina is the Peso.
  • The official language in the whole country is Spanish. In Patagonia there are small indigenous communities that speak mapuche language, and the official religion is Roman Catholic.
  • The climate is lukewarm cold, with very marked seasonal differences. There are big variations between the temperatures of the summer and those of the winter.
