San Juan Bautista Anglican Cathedral

Address: 25 de Mayo 276 – San Nicolás

Due to the donation of lands made in 1830 towards the Argentinean government by Juan Manuel de Rosas, the Anglicans had their cathedral in the city; in fact (except for the catholic religion), it is the oldest temple in the country.
It was inaugurated in 1831 and although it has undergone changes with the years, the façade stays like in its origin. In its interior the influence of Victorian times stands out, like the stained glass of great beauty as a sample of the mark of their style.
This protestant temple got its deserved recognition when was fairly recognized as an ARTISTIC and HISTORICAL MONUMENT by the National Government during the year 2000.

In 2000, the San Juan Bautista Anglican Cathedral was declared Historical and Artistic Monument by the National Government
