Cañadón Yaten Guajen

Travel 135 km. Provincial Route 17, in the vicinity of Estancia La Pilar, you can find basaltic canyons and cave paintings. In aboriginal Tehuelche language “Yaten Guajen” means “painted stone”. There are numerous petroglyphs along the canyon. Located on the tributary of the Santa Cruz River, on its left bank.

To get to this place we recommend that you inform previously in the tourism office or municipality of Piedra Buena. It is not a busy place, the road is of gravel and the last section only a trace. It is also on private property, so you have to get permission from the owners.
