Tour to the clouds + Humahuaca and Iruya (2 days)

Day 1:
You will depart at 7:00 am., heading to San Antonio de los Cobres following the parallel route to the Train to the Clouds. In Santa Rosa de Tastil, a city previous to the Incas period, you’ll make an archaeological tour to discover the impressive ruins of one of the greatest urban centers from the XIIIth century, currently abandoned in the hallucinating desert of the Puna. Soon, zigzagging between the blue sky and the plateau, you will get to San Antonio de los Cobres. There, you will have some time for lunch consisting of regional food. During the evening, the trip continues towards Purmamarca, in Jujuy. On your way there, you will see the impressive Great Salt mines, white extensions under the shiny sun. After crossing the immense and steep hill of Lipán, you will be surprised by the view of the Hill of the Seven Colours, one of the typical beauties of this place.

Finally, the trip continues until getting to Tilcara or Purmamarca, where you will spend the night.


Day 2:
The next day the route will take you to Uquía, where you will be able to admire the typical church, and afterwards to Humahuaca in order to visit the Monument of Independence and the traditional Church as well.
The trip continues towards Iruya, a small town that seems to be hanging from the mountains. In this incredible place with steep gravel streets, you will have free time so as to tour it and to get embellished by the peace of the gorge. During the afternoon you'll start the return towards the city of Salta.

Note
Take into account that the routes of these provinces are not always passable, either because of the summer rains (January, February) or the ice in winter (July, August). The circuit might undergo non scheduled modifications due to these unforeseeable reasons.
