National Park: Trekking and Navigation

The excursion starts at 9 am. While leaving the city towards national Route Nº3, the guide will go over the best details of the past and present of Ushuaia.

Once at the Tierra del Fuego National Park, we will go for a two-hour-and-a-half trekking, along a path that takes us through the most beautiful part of the park, sometimes through the woods and sometimes along the shore. You will be able to observe the abundant vegetation, which includes conifers (Lenga Beech, Antarctic Beech, coihues), notros (Embothrium), orchids and Winter's Bark.

The walk ends at a boulder arising from the water called La Roca (the rock), where you will board a very stable Zodiac boat, for up to 18 people, to sail the Beagle Channel; the boat will skirt the Isla Redonda viewing the Imperial Cormorants that make the rock cliffs of the island their home. Then, you will disembark on the island and have lunch in a refuge, while enjoying a spectacular view of the Beagle Channel. Lunch is simple, generally consisting of pasta; drinks are included.

After lunch, there is some free time for you to rest, or walk along one of the two trails, each lasts about 20 minutes. The island is a nature reserve that has been open to tourism only for a short time. Remember, protecting the environment is the top priority. It is best if our presence is unnoticed and we leave nothing but footprints and only take photos.
In the early afternoon we continue navigating until we reach Lapataia Bay (Bahía Lapataia). During this part of the journey you can see marine birds that are the most beautiful in all of southern Patagonia: penguins, petrels, albatross and Antarctic doves.

In Lapataia Bay, the end of the Americas, and also the end of the Pan-American Route, pure beauty, you can travel along two short paths: Lapataia Mirador and Las Lengas Mirador (lookout), which end in the area of the Green Lake (Laguna Verde) from where you will return to Ushuaia by land.
Return is at 6 pm. approximately
