Description
Day 1 – Ushuaia
Between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., check-in takes place at San Martín 409, Ushuaia. Boarding begins at 6:00 p.m. Once on board, passengers gather on the fifth deck for a welcome toast and introductions to the captain and crew.
Shortly after, the ship sets course for the far south, entering the legendary Beagle Channel and navigating the Strait of Magellan—beginning a voyage through the waterways of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Day 2 – Cape Horn and Wulaia Bay
The ship sails through the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay toward Cape Horn National Park. If conditions allow, there is a landing at this iconic headland—one of the southernmost points on the planet, long enveloped in maritime legend. In the afternoon, the expedition reaches Wulaia Bay, once a major settlement of the Yaghan canoe people. A forest trail lined with lenga, coihue, canelo, and ferns leads to a panoramic viewpoint.
Day 3 – Pía Glacier and Porter Glacier
In the morning, the route follows the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel into Pía Fjord. After disembarkation, a short hike leads to a lookout facing the glacier—an ice mass descending from mountain peaks to the sea.
In the afternoon, zodiacs navigate deep between steep rock walls toward the towering front of Porter Glacier, offering an intimate encounter with the ice.
Day 4 – Águila Glacier and Cóndor Glacier
At dawn, the ship enters Agostini Sound via the Cockburn Channel. Here, several glaciers descend from the core of the Darwin Range—some reaching the sea. After breakfast, a zodiac landing leads to a walk along the shore of a meltwater lagoon at the foot of Águila Glacier. Later, zodiacs approach the face of Cóndor Glacier without disembarkation, accompanied by insights into the dynamics of glacial formation and the rugged relief of the Fuegian archipelagos.
Day 5 – Magdalena Island and Punta Arenas
At first light, if weather permits, the expedition lands on Magdalena Island, home to a vibrant colony of Magellanic penguins. In September and April, this landing is replaced by a zodiac tour around Marta Island, where South American sea lions gather on the coast.
Disembarkation and end in Punta Arenas is scheduled for approximately 12:30 p.m.
