Lower valley

Description

A charming excursion that offers a broad overview of the coastal atmosphere, local history, and the lasting influence of Welsh heritage across the region surrounding Puerto Madryn.

Departures follow a scheduled itinerary from Puerto Madryn, heading south toward Rawson, the capital of the province. The route includes a visit to the colorful Port of Rawson and the coastal village of Playa Unión, where, conditions permitting, visitors may take an add-on navigation into open waters that offers the chance to spot Toninas (Commerson’s dolphins), one of the world’s smallest and most agile dolphin species.

The journey continues to Gaiman, one of the most emblematic towns of the Welsh settlement in Argentina. Time is provided to explore the village and, optionally, to enjoy the traditional Welsh tea service, accompanied by an abundant selection of cakes and homemade pastries.

Before returning to Puerto Madryn, the itinerary includes a stop in the city of Trelew for a visit to the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum—widely considered the most important of its kind in South America, with an extraordinary collection of fossils and paleontological exhibits.

Note: It does not include the optional navigation ticket, entrance fees or the Welsh Tea service.
