My wife and I just returned from an excellent holiday in Patagonia. The organisation was perfect (car to collect us at each airport, confirmation each evening of the pick-up time for the next morning's tour, flight check-in done for us), and the tours all very good. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the countrysidde. El Calafate was a particular highlight of the trip - the excellent hotel was next to a lake, and a nature reserve, with snow-capped mountains in the background. The town is very attractive, and we did two good tours. Travelling around Patagonia is very easy, the people are very nice and we will certainly return. Do also make sure you go on a boat trip in the Beagle channel at Ushuaia.
