
{"id":6248,"date":"2018-05-02T19:57:32","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T22:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/?p=6248"},"modified":"2018-05-02T19:57:32","modified_gmt":"2018-05-02T22:57:32","slug":"una-mina-de-oro-negro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/en\/a-black-gold-mine\/","title":{"rendered":"A black gold mine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The basin of the San Jorge Gulf has become a surge of financial opportunities. \u00a0Oil has become the Holy Grail of operator companies and the crowds of contractors ready to make a fortune with oil wells. \u00a0In addition, a wide range of services has been greatly improved by the exploitation of hydrocarbons in <a href=\"\/i\/atlantica\/comodoro\/comodoro.php\">Comodoro Rivadavia.<\/a> \u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/comodoro_petroleo.jpg\" alt=\"Comodoro Rivadavia, the National Oil Capital City\" width=\"240\" height=\"170\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" \/>As a side effect from this <strong>prosperity spread over every layer of Comodoro\u2019s society<\/strong>, a <strong>significant difference in the market of prices and wages can be observed in relation to the national context<\/strong>. Just as an example, a factory worker earns as much as a bank manager in C\u00f3rdoba or Rosario.<\/p>\n<p>Even though these differential incomes are weakened by higher prices, <strong>the quality of life is clearly much better than in other urban centers of the country<\/strong>. \u00a0This is evidenced not only by consumption, but also by the evolution of urban morphology. The expansion of the city did not <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/comodoro_playa.jpg\" alt=\"Rada Tilly beach town\" width=\"240\" height=\"170\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/>result in the settlement of shanty towns around peripheral areas, as is usually the case.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the economic bonanza, it is worth to note that <strong>Comodoro Rivadavia has not become established as a glamorous city<\/strong>. It offers all that is necessary in terms of services and infrastructure for local people, but it does not have an ambitious architecture or a tourist proposal of great commercial activity. Even though it is located overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, weather conditions, with strong winds and frequent rainfalls, are discouraging at the time of attracting tourists.
