This is how the <strong>colony \u201cLeandro N. Alem\u201d<\/strong> was created, giving birth to <strong>\u201cColonia Mixta de los Antiguos\u201d<\/strong> in <strong>1938<\/strong>. Artificial irrigation channels started to be constructed immediately, thus spreading the river\u2019s water over the picturesque farms that cover the landscape in green.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/images\/ComNor_Losantiguos.JPG\" alt=\"Los Antiguos\" width=\"240\" height=\"170\" align=\"left\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Los Antiguos<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Los Antiguos is located 64 km from <strong>Perito Moreno<\/strong> and 893 km from <strong>R\u00edo Gallegos<\/strong>, the capital city of the province. It is surrounded by the <strong>Andes\u2019 snowy peaks<\/strong> and the immense<a href=\"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/i\/andina\/losantiguos\/lago.php\"> Lake Buenos Aires<\/a>, with an extension of 2240 km, placed second in size in South America after Lake Titicaca.
