Most of the establishments are open to the public for tours and with an extra fee, you can attend a tasting. Since there is a large extension of land dedicated to grape crops, the area has been divided into four large areas known as grape oasis: The Center-West Oasis, where the cellars that are closest to the city are located, the East Oasis, in the Tunuy\u00e1n river area, the South Oasis, in the municipalities of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/i\/cuyo\/mendoza\/san_rafael.php\">San Rafael\u00a0<\/a>and General Alvear and the Oasis of the Uco Valley, which is also in the bed of the Tunuy\u00e1n river, only a bit higher, with the Tupungato volcano as a background.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10543\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10543\" style=\"width: 1455px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10543 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1455\" height=\"1161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec.jpg 1455w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec-600x479.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec-1024x817.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec-768x613.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-malbec-1200x958.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1455px) 100vw, 1455px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10543\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mendoza is the Land of Malbec wine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Many Wine roads have been developed in each of these oasis, each road implies a departure at noon from the city of Mendoza. The Southern Oasis and the Oasis of the Uco Valley take the whole day because of the big distances.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the establishments of the Center-West oasis are within\u00a0 a distance of 30 km from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/i\/cuyo\/mendoza\/mendoza.php\">capital<\/a>. There are many wine roads in this area and many establishments to visit as well.<\/p>\n<p>In the area of the Maip\u00fa District there are two large areas, one that is furthest from the Mendoza river and the other one is located over the cliffs. The first area is where the following wine cellars are located: El Enemigo de Casa Vigil, Rutini, L\u00f3pez, Santa Julia, Tempus Alba, Triventu, Trapiche y Vi\u00f1a El Cerno being the latter a small but charming cellar whose owners provide a tasting.<\/p>\n<p>The Flichman state and the Cruz de Piedra cellars are located in the area of the cliffs. Also in the area are Arizu, S\u00e9ptima, Ruca Malen, Tierras Altas, Belasco de Baquedano, Roberto Bonfanti, Cobos, Renacer, Carmelo Patti, Balbo, Alta Vista, Cruzat and the newer and Dolium which\u00a0is not as widely known as the ones mentioned before but it is the first to be in the form of a <em>boutique<\/em>, a very exclusive underground wine cellar.<\/p>\n<p>Norton and Cabrini are located on the highest part of this area, being the latter a traditional mass wine manufacturer and it also provides the Vatican with wine.<\/p>\n<p>While still within the limits of this oasis, in the Chacras de Coria area you can visit the Lagarde, Catena wine cellars that belong to a traditional Italian family and Vi\u00f1a Amalia, a little establishment devoted to non industrial production.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, while in the area of Vistalba, you can visit a beautiful valley that has a view to Cord\u00f3n del Plata. The Nieto Senetiner and the new Domaine Vistalba and Peque\u00f1a Bodega are found there.<\/p>\n<p>The East Oasis by the Tunuy\u00e1n river is the one with most of the production but it is the one that has least developed wine routes for tourists.\u00a0The only establishment you can visit is Bodega La Agr\u00edcola.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10544\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10544\" style=\"width: 4096px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10544 size-4k\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-4096x2304.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4096\" height=\"2304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-4096x2304.jpg 4096w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-1200x675.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mdz-vinedos-2048x1152.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 4096px) 100vw, 4096px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10544\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A vineyard landscape<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You will need at least one full day to get to know the South Oasis which is on the foot of the mountain range by the Atuel and Diamante rivers. White wines are traditionally produced in that area. The main wine cellars are: Bodega Valent\u00edn Bianchi, Bodegas Balbi, Bodega Suter and the modern Bodega Jean Rivier.<\/p>\n<p>The last oasis is the newest undertaking. It is the area of the Uco Valley, in the Tupungato, Tunuy\u00e1n and San Carlos municipalities that have the Tupungato volcano as background. It is a high valley at 900 and 1500 m.a.s.l. that produces excellent varietal wines. The following wine cellars are located here: Salentein, Lurton, Estancia Anc\u00f3n and Finca La Celia.
