A little after Tres Lagos we meet up with Provincial Route 23 which can take us to\u00a0<strong>El Chalt\u00e9n, National Capital of Trekking<\/strong>. This route borders Lake Viedma up until the side of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/i\/andina\/chalten\/fitz.php\">Monte Fitz Roy<\/a>\u00a0and Cerro Torre.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Fitz Roy mount\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/images\/chalten_4vistafitzroy.jpg\" alt=\"Fitz Roy mount\" width=\"240\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a really beautiful area, still virgin and wild. It is worth it to take a detour to see it, and also you can go on a short trek. Later the route continues onto the spectacular\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/i\/content\/parques\/parques8.php\">El Calafate and the Glaciers National Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From Gobernador Gregores it is 360km of gravel road to El Calafate, without taking into account the detour to El Chalt\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Route 40 continues southward, passing Tres Lagos (Three Lakes), 200 km from Gregores.
