On both sides of the Negro River, Viedma and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/en\/carmen-de-patagones\/\">Carmen de Patagones<\/a> form a unique urban area, bound by more than two centuries of shared history. A riverside promenade of more than five kilometers follows its flow, where each summer two of the region\u2019s most significant events are held: the R\u00edo Negro Regatta in January and the National River Festival in February. However, the so-called Historic Block preserves the Cathedral and the Salesian School, spaces that hold the memory of Ceferino Namuncur\u00e1 and Artemides Zatti, a Salesian recognized as \u201cthe holy nurse of Patagonia,\u201d whose remains rest in the Don Bosco parish. Also in this valley, wines are produced that express the character of the region, with varietals such as Malbec and Pinot Noir.<\/p>\n<h2>From the river to the sea<\/h2>\n<p>The landscape of Viedma is completed in its transition to the Atlantic. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patagonia-argentina.com\/en\/la-maravillosa-ruta-costera-de-rio-negro\/\">Along the coast, beaches of diverse profiles follow one another<\/a>: El C\u00f3ndor, Playa Bonita, El Espig\u00f3n, La Lober\u00eda, Bah\u00eda Rosas, and Bah\u00eda Creek.
