Corrientes Avenue

Address: Av. Corrientes 100 – 2500 – San Nicolás

It is one of downtown’s the most important avenues. Its name pays homage to one of the countries’ provinces, just like its parallel avenues, Córdoba and Santa Fé. With its 69 blocks, it crosses five neighborhoods from its starting point in Puerto Madero until it ends in Chacarita.
The B subway line that goes from Alem to Los Incas, travels it underground. Corrientes Avenue is closely related to tango since great artists have included it in their lyrics and it is also present in most of the murals of subway stations.
It is known as “the street that never sleeps” due to the number of cafes, bars, pizza places, bookstores, cultural centers and important theatres such as the Opera, the Gran Rex or the San Martín, that can be found along it.
