Bosques Petrificados Natural Monument

Declared Natural Monument on May 5, 1954 by resolution issued by the National Executive Power in order to preserve the fossil deposit of Jaramillo, this forest was developed 150 million years ago and represents a crucial source for paleontologists and scientists.  Located 256 Km. (160 mi) from Puerto Deseado, its area is 10,000 h, and contains 30-meter (98 ft) long petrified trees.
Even though access is free, you should respect the visit hours, from 10 am to 8 pm. There is a free campsite, with no services.
