Sanctuary of the Virgin and Submerged Forest
If you want a special visit to an
uncommon place, you have to take this
excursion.
The sanctuary is located
on the north coast of Lake Traful and in the interior of the cave there is an
image of the Stella Maris Virgin from the year 1973.
This cave is approximately
7m. high in a very humid environment, which favors a very attractive vegetation
like ferns and wild flowers like chilca and fuchsias.
The Bosque Sumergido
(Submerged Forest) is on the immediate bay of the great peninsula.
It is formed by some 60 totally dried green cypresses and without leaves, that
emerge from the lake probably due to past landslides. A wonderful scenery.
