Road of the Seven Lakes
Total itinerary: 110 km.
 This
is a traditional circuit that can start either in San Martín
de Los Andes or in San Carlos de Bariloche.
Leaving from the first city, you should take route 234 (consolidated
road) and after 30 km. you will cross the bridge over Río
Hermoso, where a fascinating scenery begins.
You first pass Lake Machónico. A few kilometers away
there are two lakes: Hermoso and Escondido (hidden), both
near the road. During this itinerary you will be able to
observe a small lagoon called Pudú-Pudu, named after a species
of small deer in danger of extinction. There is also a small beach
and free camping.

km. from San Martín de Los Andes we arrive at Lake Falkner
on the left side of the road and near the Villarino
on the right side. Through thick vegetation you continue for
22 km. to reach Lake Correntoso, special for salmon fishing.
Finally, 15 km. ahead, you will arrive at Lake Espejo, with
very tranquil waters.
A few km. ahead you will cross the intersection of routes 234 an
231 and start following the coast of Lake Nahuel Huapi to reach
the beautiful village of Villa
La Angostura.
The road is paved here and you can arrive in San
Carlos de Bariloche which is 90 km. away.
