MarPatag Cruise : “The Spirit of the Glaciers”

Three friends had a dream which, never forgetting the aim and working hard, they finally turned into this reality: a cruise, with all the comfort, eager for a closer look at the glaciers, to share the purity of the night with them, and experience the way the sun splits in a thousand blue pieces with the intensity of dawn in the Lake Agentino.

Only 14 people will have the privilege of doing something out of the common during their stay in El Calafate: sharing the search of the “spirits of the glaciers”.

The cruise offers luxury service for this 2-day/1-night plan, including:

• Two-day navigation along the Lake Argentino, which allows a view of Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers, in addition, of course, to the Perito Moreno.
• A night on board in a cabin with private bathroom, on a ship covering all security requirements and offering the comfort for demanding passengers.
• Full board and cafeteria service during the whole trip.
• Entry to Los Glaciares National park.

The trip, step by step...

The adventure begins at 8 am., when a vehicle picks the passengers up at the hotels of El Calafate, going from there to Puerto Bandera. This is where the crew awaits and makes the introductions and answers to the questions passengers may have about the cruise.

The ship sets sail at about 9 am, first to the north, to Upsala Glacier. The first icebergs are a sign of the closeness to it, which is one of the biggest of the National Park, having a front 7 Km long. The trip goes on along the Canal de las Americas, where lunch is served.

At sunset, the Spegazzini Glacier shows all its splendor, the falling sun gilding its high blue walls.

The ship anchors at Puesto Vacas at night. After dinner, passengers may gather around the fire in order to share their experiences of the day. Provided the sky is clear, they will witness a unique spectacle.

The following day, those waking up early will be honored with a view of dawn literally in the middle of Los Glaciares National Park, a privilege only available to the passengers of this cruise. All the pinks of the beginning of the day, spread in a thousand pieces along the surrounding landscape of woods and ice, will constitute a moment of silent wonder that will live in the pupils of the passengers forever.

After breakfast, the trip goes on to the Perito Moreno glacier, through the Canal de los Témpanos, where, close to the wall and the detachments, passengers will once more, feel privileged by the view of the most amazing glacier in the world from an unbeatable perspective.

Later, lunch will be served in Bahia Alemana, to finally go back to Puerto Bandera and disembark at around 5pm., at the same place where passengers boarded only 30 hours before. However, nothing will remain the same. The eyes, minds and souls of those who chose this way of seeing the glaciers will have changed after the experience, which will be with them forever.
