Port Villa la Angostura, Peninsula de Quetrihué and Arrayanes
Wood
The
port of Villa La Angostura is on Lake
Nahuel Huapi and close to the town.
It has two piers, separated by the entrance isthmus to the Quetrihué
Peninsula. A small shopping center, the seat of the Prefectura
Naval Argentina and the Park Ranger´s house are located as you enter
the pier on the left side. The "Expedicionarios del Desierto" square
is in front. The other pier offers bar service and boat and windsurf
rental.
You
can enter the Peninsula de Quetrihué on foot or horseback.
At a distance of 12 km. you reach the spectacular and millenary
Bosque de Los Arrayanes, where trees with incredible yellow colors
will astonish you. It is said that the "Pudú Pudú"
small deer, and a cabin nearby inspired Walt Disney for his famous
cartoon "Bambi".
This
forest is also frequently visited from San
Carlos de Bariloche on a lake tour. It can also be reached during
the summer from Puerto Villa La Angostura.
