Skiing in Valdelén

The nearest ski center to Río Gallegos is in Rio Turbio, on Dorotea Hill.

The Valdelén Center of Winter Sports is located 4 kilometers from Rio Turbio, practically on the frontier with Chile.

When arriving to the top of the tracks, surrounded of ñires forests and lengas, you can see the channels of the Pacific and the tops of the Chilean National Park of Towers of Paine.

The tracks allow the practice of alpine and Nordic ski, with soft to moderate slopes, and because of their location, permanent powdered snow is guaranteed 90% of the season. Interconnection channels can be used among the tracks that pass through the forest and there is artificial illumination which allows skiing until midnight.

The elevation means are: an arch ski lift, for beginners, of 70 meters, a ski lift at the base, of 300 meters and a double chairlift, 1000 meters high.

Among the services: fourtracks and motorcycles for snow rental, and the possibility of carrying out as alternative activity, photographic safaris to take panoramic images of the Towers of Paine, the Fjords of the Pacific and other natural beauties of the area.
