Species

Some of the species existing in Central and Atlantic Patagonia are:

Atherine, corvina, pescadilla, shark, brótola

The species in Andean Patagonia are:

Salmón encerrado (Salmo salar sebago)
Brown trout (Salmo trutta)
Brook trout(Salvelinus fontinalis)
Lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush)
Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp)

In provincial jurisdictions outside National Parks, fishing the following species is allowed:

Perch (Percichthys spp)
Patagonian atherine (Pagonina hatcheri o Odontesthes microlepidotus)
Bonaerense atherine (Odontesthes bonaerensis)
Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

The rest of the local species (catfish, puyenes, peladillas and salmon encerrado), must be returned alive to water and with the least possible damage.
